Our ApproachWe strive to create a fun and memorable learning journey with the aim of strengthening our children's love for Greece and bringing them close to the values of Greek families. Our expectations for both teachers and students are set high and we believe that a strong sense of team spirit between teachers and parents promotes student success. Classes cover a variety of topics and activities depending on the level and age of the students. When children begin classes they familiarize themselves and get exposed to basic group words from their immediate environment like fruit, colors, and animals. Learning takes place by interacting with teachers and others through a variety of activities like songs, arts and crafts, fairy tales, and educational games.Around the age of 6 it is time to write the first letters and syllables in Greek and start acquiring the basic reading and writing skills. Children also develop basic communication skills, like introducing or talking about themselves and their friends, identifying objects, and carrying out short dialogues. They are later introduced to a variety of more complex linguistic structures and the focus shifts to the development of reading and writing skills as well as oral communication. Language cannot be learned in isolation from the culture it is spoken in, therefore a variety of different subjects are integrated into the curriculum. Besides acquiring the language students will learn about The Greek Gods and Ancient Greece, Morals and Customs of the Greek society, and Wars of Independece. By participating in cultural events such as the Christmas Celebration, Greek Independce Day, Greek Letters Day etc, they will learn songs and poems and they will familiaze themselves with Greek cultural elements.
